Frequently Asked Questions about Glass Splashbacks

What are glass splashbacks?

Glass splashbacks are panels of toughened safety glass fitted to walls behind cookers, hobs, sinks and in bathrooms. They protect your walls from moisture and heat while providing a sleek, easy-to-clean decorative finish. At Glass Splashbacks UK we manufacture them to your exact measurements in hundreds of colours and finishes.

Are your glass splashbacks toughened?

Yes. Every panel we produce is made from toughened safety glass (also called tempered glass) that is four to five times stronger than standard float glass. If it were ever to break, it shatters into small, blunt fragments rather than dangerous shards.

What colours and finishes are available?

We offer 490+ colours from the full RAL Classic and RAL E3 Effects ranges, plus an unlimited colour-match service — we can match any colour you choose. Finishes include standard gloss, metallic, crackle, mirror and digitally printed.

How do I measure for a glass splashback?

Use our step-by-step How to Measure guide. In brief: measure the width and height of each panel area in millimetres, note socket positions if applicable, and enter the dimensions into our online quote tool. We manufacture to the exact millimetre.

Can I fit a glass splashback myself?

Yes — that is exactly what our system is designed for. We provide a detailed fitting guide and video walkthrough. You need basic DIY skills, a silicone adhesive appropriate for glass, and a helping pair of hands for larger panels. No specialist tools are required.

How long does delivery take?

Standard lead time is approximately 7–10 working days from receipt of your confirmed order. We will confirm your exact delivery date by email once your order is in production.

Do you cut to bespoke or irregular shapes?

Yes. For regular rectangular panels, use our online quote tool. For bespoke shapes — curved edges, angled cuts, L-shapes — contact us by phone or email with a dimensioned drawing and we will provide a custom quote.

How do I care for and clean my glass splashback?

Glass splashbacks are very easy to maintain. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and a small amount of non-abrasive household glass cleaner. Avoid scouring pads or abrasive creams. See our full care guide for more detail.

Are glass splashbacks safe behind a gas hob?

Yes, provided a minimum gap of 65mm is maintained between the edge of the gas burner and the glass, as recommended by building regulations and most hob manufacturers. Our toughened glass is heat-resistant. Always check your hob manufacturer’s guidelines.

What is your returns and refund policy?

Because every panel is made-to-measure, we cannot accept returns of correctly manufactured items. However, if your order arrives damaged or contains a manufacturing error, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will replace the panel free of charge.
